How to choose the right casters

Why choose the right casters? Because choosing the right caster can save costs and prolong the service life of the caster, we share with you our many years of production experience, please see more!
According to the usage environment:

1.When choosing a suitable caster, the first thing to consider is the caster material: such as schools, office buildings, hotels, hospitals, supermarkets and other environments where the ground is relatively flat, the goods to be transported are usually very light, which can protect the floor and need to be non-slip, which means Each caster will carry about 10 ~ 90 kg. It is recommended to use PVC, TPR, TPE, PU material for the caster. This type of wheeled carrier is silent and shock-absorbing, swivels flexibly, and does not hurt the floor.

2.In factories, warehouses, outdoor areas with uneven ground, etc., where goods move frequently and have a heavy load (100-200 kg), or are used to carry heavier items, such as common equipment in textile factories, automobile factories, and machinery factories, due to The load is large and the walking distance is long. Each caster should be able to carry 280-1200 kg. It is recommended to use PP, nylon, and rubber materials for the casters, and use 2.5-12mm thick steel plate wheel brackets to manufacture and add bearings. This type of The wheeled carrier has strong wear resistance and impact resistance, and can rotate flexibly. According to specific application needs, it can also be galvanized or sprayed for corrosion resistance, and an anti-winding design is given.

3.Special environment: cold, high temperature and corrosive environments put a lot of pressure on casters. In extreme temperatures, it is recommended to use polyurethane (low temperature below 45 °C), PP, nylon (high temperature resistance 200 °C) materials, and use 304 SS Or made of 316 stainless steel plate wheel support, this type of wheel support is resistant to high temperature corrosion and can be rotated flexibly.

According to carrying capacity:
When choosing the load carrying capacity of the casters, the user needs to consider a specific safety height. We take the most commonly used four-wheel caster as an example, but the selection should be based on the following two methods:
1.3 casters bear the full weight: one of the casters should be suspended. This method is suitable for casters that carry more weight in poor ground conditions, especially when larger, heavier overall weights are involved.
2.The total weight of 4 casters is 120%: This method is suitable for situations where the ground conditions are better, and the impact on the casters is relatively small when the goods or equipment are moved.
3.Calculate the carrying capacity: In order to calculate the required carrying capacity of the casters, it is necessary to know the self-weight of the conveying equipment, the maximum load and the number of casters and casters used. The required load carrying capacity of a caster or caster is calculated as follows:
T = (E + Z) / M×N
T = load weight required for one caster or casters
E = the self-weight of the conveying equipment
Z = maximum load
M = number of casters and the number of casters used
N = safety factor (about 1.3 - 1.5).
Care should be taken where the casters will be exposed to a large amount of shock. It is not only necessary to choose casters with a large load-bearing capacity, but also a specially designed anti-shock structure. If brakes are required, single-brake or double-brake casters should be selected.

Matters needing attention: avoid overweight, do not offset, regular maintenance, such as regular oiling, and timely inspection of screws.
